The firstborn son of Simba and Nala, born a few months after the death of Scar. Rain had returned to the Pridelands and everyone was happy to welcome the birth of their new prince. Naba was the spitting image of his father, but reminded everyone of a different golden lion; Mufasa. His childhood nickname was "fluffy", simply due to all the scruff he seemed to carry from his grandmother Sarabi's genes. Always carrying a smile on his face, the boy worked alongside his father and kept the Pridelands in check; especially when his younger siblings were born.
However Simba feared that Naba was growing too soft, not going to be able to govern and deal out justice that was required of being a king. On the advice of Nala, Naba was sent to foster under Sarabi's brother who just took over her father's place as king of the Ashlands. Naba left for the Ashlands during his adolescence and was to return to the Pridelands once he was a man grown. On his departure to the south, his younger brother Chaka went north to The Chill to serve the kingdoms from there; forsaking his claim on the Pridelands and leaving their parents with no children.
News came of two new siblings in the form of Kiara and Kopa to which Naba was ecstatic. In his jubilation, he met a lioness of the Ashlands pride and became very smitten with her. Even though she was a commoner, he fell in love and quickly took her as his mate to prevent his parents from betrothing him off to another lioness. However, when Aya discovered she was pregnant, she wasn't able to tell Naba. For during a routine check of the borders, a rogue band of lions attacked and killed Naba, his cousin and second born to the Ashlands' king Issa, two other pride males, and took Aya captive; pregnant with a claim to the Pridelands.
Alright! First new piece of art on this account, and I'm very proud. Decided to make actual ref sheets for the characters in my universe, and Naba was first. I decided to make him Fluffy from the end of TLK, who would have been a perfect king if he hadn't have died. However, I needed a reason for Simba's over protectiveness in TLK 2, and Naba seemed to fit the bill.
Also yes, in this AU Kion isn't Kiara's twin! I have a better reason for that which you'll all see later!
