During Scar's reign, in order to prevent Scar from mating with her, Nala instead became pregnant with Tojo's child. Tojo, being a childhood friend, was all for the idea, but assured Nala that Scar did not wish to mate with her, since she was just a child compared to him. However, being paranoid, Nala went through the with plan and birthed a single daughter. Scar quickly congratulated Nala on the litter, to which Nala thought to be a ploy, even more so when Tojo was sent as an envoy to the Lowlands along with Scar's eldest son and never returned. Nala struggled for a name for her daughter, and it was Scar whom suggested the name of Vitani. Nala didn't care for the name and attempted to come up with something else, but whispers from Rafiki that he had found the lost prince left Nala to leave her daughter in the paws of Zira whom had just given birth herself to a son. 

When Nala returned with Simba and became his queen, she felt guilt for betraying him and having a cub with one of his childhood best friends. When Zira was brought forward for judgement, along came Nala's daughter, to which Nala denounced and claimed was Scar's. Leaving Zira to claim her as her own and bring her along in exile. She named the cub Vitani as Scar suggested and betrothed the girl to her own son, Kovu, whom she named in honor of Scar. Vitani grew up alongside the Outsiders and quickly looked up to Zira's eldest daughter, Nkiru, and her eldest son, Obasi, and learned much from them. She grew up on the path to be a general, as well as a queen alongside her betrothed Kovu.

It was because she was betrothed to Kovu that Vitani soon learned the truth of her parentage. Her mother denounced her, her father left her for an odd kingdom, it only fueled her resentment for the Pridelands and the life she could have had. When she was of age, she gave herself to Kovu and became pregnant with his child, a boy to which she named Masego. But Kovu had become smitten with the Pridelands' princess, and soon forgot about his betrothed and son; heir to his throne. Vitani remained ever loyal to Zira through these times, the only mother she had ever known, and carried out many plans for her. During the great battle, she fought against her birth mother and begrudgingly joined the Pridelanders for a few weeks once the battle ended and Simba offered the Outsiders a home.

But Masego was a stain on Kovu's newfound honor, and it was after a talk with Nala (one that did not end in reconciliation that Nala was hoping for) that she took Masego back to the Outlands and found the original owners of the pride now living there. Their king, Kojo, allowed the two a place in his pride on the condition that Vitani bear him heirs. Vitani accepted, knowing that for her child's safety was worth becoming a mother again. Her two children were born, and she loved them just as much as Masego. And, it was after this moment that Kojo offered Vitani a place as Queen of the Outlands.

But after everything she had been through, would she accept?

Yet another difference between my universe and everyone else's, Vitani isn't Scar and Nala's daughter, but Tojo and Nala's! Her story was fun to type up, and I can't wait to make her kids' bios as well as some other stories involving her! Reffed a few screenshots for Vitani's eyes and her cub pose, so hopefully I did her justice!
